6' 0" tall centre-forward born in Willingham-by-Stow who was known for his hard shots.

Len started his career at Sheffield Wednesday and then moved to Walsall via Goole in March 1936.

In May 1938 he was transferred to Watford for £1,000. Len scored at a rate of better than a goal every other game whilst with the Hornets and in March 1939 Leeds signed him for a fee of £3,750.

In April 1946 he rejoined Watford in a £1,000 deal.

Len joined Margate in August 1948, initially on a month's trial from Watford, and scored twice on his debut - a 6-1 Kent League win over Snowdown at Hartsdown on 25.8.48. One of his goals was a penalty and the other a 20 yard effort. He went on to make a total of seven appearances during the early weeks of the 48/49 season and scored five goals before having to leave the club in October 1948. Len had to go as Watford asked for a £100 transfer fee plus 50% of any future transfer fee if he joined a Football League club and Margate couldn't afford it.

However he returned to Kent early in 1949 and joined Margate's Kent League rivals Sittingbourne, scoring a hat-trick in one of his first matches for them.

After his playing career finished Len worked as a scout for Watford and as a coach for various local teams in the south.

His full name was William Leonard Dunderdale and he died early in 1989.
